【摘要】:Ornamentalsteelpicketfencesystemscanbedesignedtoprovidegreaterlevelsofsecuritybyselectingstylesandconfigurationsthatincreasethedifficultytopenetrateandinturnincreasedelaytime.Someexamplesinclude:increasingtheheightofthefence,usingornamentalpicketstylesthatcurveoutwardtoformaparapetontheattacksideofthefence,anddecreasingthespacingbetweenverticalpickets.Securityhardeningofornamentalsteelpicketfencesystemscanbeachievedbyaddingfencesecurityaccessories(thatis,barbedwiretothetop;barbedtapetothetop,sideorbottomofthefence;orspikedrailingsupplementsalongthetoprail)orbyattachingsupplementalsecurityfencefillmaterials(thatis,expandedmetal,barbedtapemesh,weldedwiremesh,orchain-linkmini-meshfabric).Slatsorscreeningpanelscanbeinsertedtorestrictvisibilitywhenrequired.Multiplefencelinescanbeinstalledtocreateisolationzonesthatenhancetheabilitytopatrolorvisuallymonitorthearea.Anti-ramcablesystemsmaybeaddedtoresistvehiclepenetrationintoaprotectedperimeter.1.1Thisguideprovidesthematerialandinstallationstandardsforselectioninthedesignofanornamentalsteelpicketfencesystemforsecurityapplications.Thepropermaterialselectionandsysteminstallationandlayoutcansubstantiallyincreasethedifficultytopenetrate;thereby,increasingtheintrusiondelaytime.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
