【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecolorofrefinedoilssuchasundyedmotorandaviationgasoline,jetpropulsionfuels,naphthasandkerosine,and,inaddition,petroleumwaxesandpharmaceuticalwhiteoils.Note1-FordeterminingthecolorofpetroleumproductsdarkerthanSayboltColor-16,seeTestMethodD1500.Thistestmethodreportsresultsspecifictothistestmethodandrecordedas,"SayboltColorunits."Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsorinSIunitsandwhicharenotinparenthesesaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Note2-Oiltubesandapparatususedinthistestmethodhavetraditionallybeenmarkedininches,(thetubeisrequiredtobeetchedwith/in.divisions.)TheSayboltColorNumbersarealignedwithinch,1/2in.,1/4in.,and/in.changesinthedepthofoil.ThesefractionalinchchangesdonotreadilycorrespondtoSIequivalentsandinviewofthepreponderanceofapparatusalreadyinuseandmarkedininches,theinch/poundunitisregardedasthestandard.HoweverthetestmethoddoesuseSIunitsoflengthwhenthelengthisnotdirectlyrelatedtodivisionsontheoiltubeandSayboltColorNumbers.ThetestmethodusesSIunitsfortemperature.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
